How did KAIRU turn the fish transparent?
Transparent biological specimens are a method of making biological specimens. They were originally used for scientific research. The specimens used by KAIRU come from abandoned fisheries, exotic species or dead organisms in farms. The integrity of the organisms is not destroyed during production. Next, after multiple treatments with chemicals and dyes, the remains of the dying creatures are reborn into beautiful and unique transparent specimens.

Leaf eel Leptocephalus
There are only four orders of fish that have the larvae form of the willow eels. The forms of the willow eels of these four groups are also different. They usually have a deeper and taller body, and the body length is longer and the sides are flatter. The reason why the body is transparent is that it is full of gel-like glycosaminoglycan compounds that store energy. In fresh specimens, the pigment spots on the intestines and the body can be observed. The important characteristics for identifying the willow eel subfamily include some relative lengths, shapes, and texture. There are dilated areas and curved angles of the intestine. In terms of purpose classification, the presence or structure of the caudal fin can be directly observed.
Eels are widely distributed, ranging from freshwater to land coasts to deep sea areas, but the leaf eel stage only appears in open seawater areas. The leaf eel stage is not used for fisheries and is mostly used for academic research. However, it occasionally appears in the fish market. When the leaf eel reaches the eel line stage, it will move upstream and settle in the river. Therefore, fishermen often go to the river mouth during the production season. Eel fishing lines are sold or used for breeding.
