Biological Encyclopedia

Primitive goldfish belong to the genus *Carassius* within the family Cyprinidae. In terms of appearance, they have high, laterally compressed bodies, short, rounded heads, and plump abdomens. They feature retractable mouths, jaws without teeth, and typically have forked tails.
Crucian carp are widely distributed in freshwater environments such as rivers and lakes across Eurasia. They have a high tolerance for water quality, which is why they can still be found in many harsh aquatic habitats. They are omnivorous fish, with a diet that includes plankton, benthic invertebrates, aquatic plants, algae, and organic debris.
As ornamental fish, they have a history spanning hundreds of years in Asia. Due to their vibrant, variegated colors, diverse characteristics, and ease of cross-breeding, their ornamental value has endured, making them a well-known household pet.

See With Us, Sea With Us

Kairu Eco-Art creates handmade transparent specimens (diaphonization). Part of our "Tabletop Mini-Museum" series, each transparent specimen inside the glass bottle is a one-of-a-kind collectible. The preservation fluid is safe and non-toxic, allowing the specimens to be preserved permanently. Start collecting your own biological encyclopedia today!

How does Kairu turn fish transparent?
Transparent biological specimen preparation is a scientific technique originally used for research purposes. The specimens used by Kairu are sourced from discarded catches, invasive species, or creatures that have died on farms. Without destroying the integrity of the organism, the remains undergo multiple chemical and staining treatments, being reborn from disappearing remains into exquisite, unique transparent specimens.
